Default Rocket for Guinea Pigs?

Hi all,
Want to take my piglets out for a walk in my garden for a change, or
maybe even let them run around in the garden on a Sunday afternoon(I
have asked my gardener, the last time he put chemical on my lawn was 2
years ago so should be safe for the piglets), I do have a growing area
with rockets, potato and greens growing, I know they like greens, and
potato is risky for them so I will fence out the potato area, but what
about rockets? is it safe for them to eat rockets?

Thanks

SC

Default Rocket for Guinea Pigs?

Being a person who puts my pigs out all the time...i quite honestly
don't worry about what plants are around (other than chemicals but
since it's my own backyard not an issue).

I find that all the pigs I've ever owned won't eat what's bad for them.
If there is grass around, or dandelions, that is what they focus on.

If I put them in my garden...watch out carrot leaves! But the
potatoes, cabbagem onions etc.. they ignore.

On the lawn, they go nuts for grass, dandelions, bind weed BUT ignore
the creeping charlie which is, unfortunately, everywhere.

I"ve never seen them go for something that might not be good for them.
They do have a good survival instinct for the most part.

I agree with ladysown...they have a built in 'early warning system' and
normally will not eat anything bad for them. The problems arise with caged
pigs who have nothing else to eat but what is provided....if the only food
provided is toxic they have no option but to try it if the alternative is
starvation. As for potatoes..definitley NO!!...anything from that plant
family, such as tomato leaves (fruit ok,and often a favourite) and tabacco
(never encourage your little pig to take up smoking) is bad news for most
plant eating animals.

It is a type of lettuce..personally i find the name more interesting than
the plant itself. (ok for a GP to eat)
