Default Car sickness

Pom Pom is almost 2 years old and starting with the day we brought him
home, he salivates like crazy anytime he gets in the car. His fur gets
soaking wet and so does the car. He does not like it in the car at all and
gets very nervous and still, panting and salivating ,and he gets
glassy-eyed. Any ideas on how to get him more comfortable in the car? Could
the motion be making hom sick or could it simply be a fear of being in the
car. When he was younger, he used to vomit, but that stopped. We generally
don't take him in the car because he does not like it, but it is a major
inconvenience and results in his being alone at home more.

Do you let him hang out the window, or have a seat high enough for him to
see outside? Try shorter rides, more often until there is some resistance.
Be careful you don't put Pom Pom into shock from stress...

If you must travel with him, you could crate him and place him low enough
that he cant see trees and buildings wizz past the window. try to visually
ubstruct his veiw. Another thing you can do to get him used to be in the
car is have him out there with you when you are cleaning it or just go out
there for 10 minutes at a time or so and just sit with him in the car. do
that daily for a week or so and see if he improves. then make a trip around
the block daily then gradually move up to longer trips. I have a Pom too.
Sh's 6. loves the car but hates my power tools. runs like crazy the minute
they come in the house. Anything that she associates with loud noises. No
idea how we'll break tht behaviour out of her. Also, my 2 young boys used
to accidentally hurt her when they were babies (0-2 yrs) Now she's a bit of
a fear nipper of children <8 yrs old. never makes contact, just snaps at
them.
