Default 5 days to T Day

Ok... we are picking up Twilight on Sunday! YAY! )

Any suggestions for bonding, training a female bunny (this is my first
female... of any species) Looking after a 6 week old giant, protecting my
furniture, carpet, marriage... products for strain removal, food
suggestions, anything, any advice however small is helpful. I feel like a
new mum! LOL!

Ohhh... I just bought a new digital camera (Midnight ate the wire which I
cannot replace (weird thing) of my old one) So I am hoping I will be able to
take loads of pictures of her and Midnight in their first encounters! Should
be fun!!!! (and yes, I did buy the camera because of the bunnies! hence,
save my marriage in the above paragraph, and I shall add to that, save my
bank balance.)

I know some people feel six weeks is early, however, she is a French Lop and
has been weaned for the last 10 -12 days. Frenchies normally leave Mum at
that age (midnight did also). Midnight is neutered so I have no worries
about putting them together.
Thanks for the suggestion of white vinegar, I will definitely try
that.Probably cheaper that the stain remover I had with Midnight. LOL. That
cost a fortune and did not do the job at all well.

Well un spayed does have an 80% risk of reproductive cancers, so you will still
need to get her spayed and keep them seperate for that, also you may find that
she will have false pregnancys untill she is spayed.

Steve, sorry, I know that. I am intending to have her spayed as soon as she
is mature, hopefully 6 months if not earlier. I am one of those people who
goes around telling everyone to get there buns spayed if they can! I forgot
to say and thought you would assume because it is something I always push on
the ng when people ask.

I realise that, my point is that you would have the problem of keeping a bonded
pair of bunnys seperate during the recovery period, imho its better to keep a
non bonded pair seperate, and non spayed does do tend to be teritorial.

I agree with you, sofia.

As long as they are friendly, and the bigger animal isn't too rough with
the newcomer...

From http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/spay-neuter.html

"Keep a newly spayed female away from all male rabbits (neutered or not), as
serious internal damage can be caused if a male mounts her."

~~~~~~~~~
That would be a big OF COURSE.
Assuming the male does that, as I must concede, most of them do,
neutered or not.
