Excuse me but those are MY cecals.
It is the first time I've ever fed cecals to a bunny! YUM!
Tonight, I went over to clean Cocoa's mat area where he sits in the evening.
Most often, he has excess cecals and because of his lessen flexibility, he
can't reach his butt to get them. I've seen him shift around and eat them
off the mat. Ok, so he is sitting in a big pile and I wanted to pick them up
before they got stuck to his butt or back feet. I got a paper napkin and had
a bunch when he gets all excited and starts munching on a few I had
missed...I offer him some on the napkin in case he didn't have enough...he
starts chowing down and then indignantly rips the napkin from my hand as if
to say "HEY, THOSE ARE MINE!"
It was too funny.
In case you're wondering, I've tried to modify his diet as best I can to
reduce these excess cecals, but he still gets them. Once he starts eating
more outdoor grasses, it gets better. I've reduced his few craisins and
other fruit bits, and slimmed down his salad. It's slightly better.
