The Phooka is my first French Lop and he is a doll. He is the sweetest of
all my other bunnies, and flops next to my chair for ear rubs (he's there
right now). He's a bit smaller than some of the other weigh-ins here, at
11lbs, but it's all sweet bunny love. There's not a grumpy bone in his
body. So different from my mini-lops and other bunnies, who could all throw
a good tantrum or sulk. I will give another word of advice that the others
didn't mention... raise the height of your bunny proofing. I thought my
house was bunny-proofed to the best, but I had not taken into consideration
that a Frenchie could reach much higher than all my others! He can reach
over three feet high when he stands on his back tippie toes, and he isn't
afraid of heights at all, so can climb higher. I even saw him up on a table
eyeing the artwork on the walls, and I could just see the thought rolling
around in his mind.... can I use those as foot-holds to climb higher?
I blame the cats' influence on that
I had him neutered at just under four months. He hit puberty overnight,
almost literally. He was suddenly and very abruptly a brat, and my
bunny-mom radar went off. I turned him over, and there they were. He was a
monster until the surgery, and has been a much more relaxed bunny ever since
then. And he is the happiest rabbit I've ever had! From the moment I
brought him home, he's never stopped dancing with joy. Every move he makes
is filled with bunny joy, laughs and giggles. He is such a comfort to my
soul, and I hope your new bunny brings you as much joy.
