How to stop bun from overeating
Romeo, our existing bun, has a pretty light appetite. He's just not as
young as he used to be and doesn't have a large appetite. Rather than
eating all of his food at one/two sittings like he used to, he now grazes on
the pellets all day long. In fact, despite getting over a recent bout of an
inner ear infection and ongoing head tilt (although he's healthy as a horse
otherwise!), I'm still having to make a banana mash out of his pellets
because he won't eat them otherwise. He's simply spoiled now, I think. =P
Well, we've introduced another bun into the family and the Humane Society
had her on a "diet" to lose weight. She's a hottot, approx. 8 lbs and has
sore hocks. We're trying to limit her pellets but every time I'm not
looking, she runs into the kitchen and gobbles down Romeo's pellets. Not
only the pellets, but she's also cleaned the plate clean of his "mash" too.
Anyone have any advice on how to make sure HE eats his pellets, not her?
Also, the Humane Society had her on 1/4C pellets per day. I thought that
was the regular amount an adult bun should eat. Anyone have any tips?
Thanks!
