Default NYC vet

I am looking for info on bunny savvy vets in NYC that people on here have
personally had spay their bunnies. (Nona?) The female Harlequin bunny that
was going to come up to us as a foster is still in NYC (I think on Long
Island). Apparently her rescuer's landlord fell in love with her and they are
doing a trial period on the possible adoption. The landlord has had many
outdoor bunnies, but this is her first house rabbit and she is very excited. I
have been emailing the rescuer bunny info to pass on (and encouraging her to
send the landlord here!) and she says the landlord is really nervous about the
anesthesia with the spay. The bunny is 5 months old so she'll be ready soon.
I told the rescuer I'd send her the info from my friends who have personally
had their bunnies spayed by a good vet in NYC to give to the landlord so that
will hopefully put her more at ease and help make the bunny is ok. (I gave her
info on not fasting, anesthesia, HRS site, etc). So, if anyone could send me
their NYC vet's contact info, I'd appreciate it.

I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't get to have this girl, but so far it
sounds like she is in a wonderful home and we really don't need any more pets
right now. We are the "back up plan" if it doesn't work out though.

Blue and Green the parakeets went home last Monday night. I told their owner
that I wouldn't pay $50 to "rescue" them. She wasn't willing to give them up
for a lower amount so we just left it at a free petsitting for a week (we even
had to provide them with the food!). Sigh. But, Ben our ****atiel actually
seems happier without the keets for some reason. Last night, he spent a lot of
time sitting on my left wrist while I was editing/naming the Magic pics from
Bunfest. It took a lot longer, but he thought it was really fun to watch the
pics and sit here in front of the fan with me. Too bad the fan was blowing
all of his loose feathers right onto the screen. lol.

I used a vet at roughly 12th St & 2nd Ave, but sorry,
I can't remember their name.

The vet was very good. There's a white animals sign out front
and they are on the south side of the east-west street.

I had two done.

BTW, I need a female.

Ugh, to go with my remaining male, 'Penis.'

We lost Mommy-white-nose a month ago.

If you know of any females who need to be rescued,
let me know.

Stacey,

Dr. Gil Stanzione is my man.

Yes, I take the girls all the way to Westchester, but people bring buns
from all over NE to see him.

He did Hubble and she recovered much more quickly than Pinky did and
seemed to have much less pain.

He's pretty pricey, though.

I've heard good things about Professor's vet, Jennifer Saver, who is
around the Queens/LI border. She is definitely a rabbit specialist, and
I believe owns some.

Nona

dr. campbell at the symphony vet center (upper west side) is very
highly recommended (from the HRS) but i wasn't too jazzed with her. i
didn't have bubbles long enough in nyc to try anyone else out, but we
would have gone to dr. stanzione.

sorry if that didn't help much!

Thanks everyone! They are going to call some of these vets you guys gave me
and then decide who they want to bring her to. It doesn't sound like this
bunny is going to be moving north (to me) anytime soon. lol. It really sounds
like she's totally hooked.

I think Dr. Saver has a place called "catnip and carrots." And I think it's in
New Hyde Park. Haven't been there myself but have heard good things about her
from both a bunny rescuer and my vet.
