Nona,

Can you get me the address, and contact information on the shelter? I'll list
it on my website under the shelter pages!

I'm always so disappointed to NEVER see any NYC shelters using petfinder
They need someone to get them started - it's so easy, and all you have to do is
update the website and take pics every few weeks.

Nona, is that a gentle hint?

Here http://www.petfinder.org/ ...

Right, not a single entry for anywhere in NYC.

NJ, PA, CT.

Hey, I have a digital camera too, taking pics is easy.

Name some shelters with rabbits ********ly, please, Nona.

There are some NYC shelters on petfinder. They go under the name CACC (Center
for Animal Care & Control) in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island. We try to
keep close tabs on them for the peke rescue. Unfortunately, they are so
overrun with pets, that only the most adoptable ones often make it on the site.
They say that they update the site daily. Fortunately, we have a couple of
volunteers who regularly visit the shelters to check for pekes and have become
known to the workers and they will call them if an unadoptable peke comes in
that we can rescue. Unfortunately, bunnies aren't even listed on their
website, just the more adoptable cats and dogs. I wonder how long they even
keep the bunnies.

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Peke, as in The Lion Dog of China?

That was the one type of dog all my aunts & uncles
had, and so is the only other critter I really like.

Not with this lease, though.

The Brooklyn New York City animal shelter.

Center for Animal Care & Control (CACC) -
Brooklyn
718-272-7200 X223

They're very nice and very distressed about the number of animals they
ahve to put to sleep.

Oh how sad - all babies listed - and not one rabbit listed - no wonder they get
euth.

I think they should all be listed so people see how many animals they have.

AND there are Yahoo groups that if someone had the time, could plea, maybe to
breed specific rescues, for help and get dogs transported to other rescues.

sigh - rescue is so draining. they could use a better camera - SOMEONE in NYC
has to have a better digital camera then that. But at least they are up.

just my opinion
