I listened to some of the interview and it made me VERY angry, mostly
because of the idiot way Bob Parsons and this lady lawyer (like I'm
surprised) acted. As if this scammer James was some sort of business savant
for perpetrating this scheme. He is no different than any scammer who sends
out mass emails with sob stories about people who need money for various
life threatening ailments.

I feel they totally missed the point in that clip. Legally, realistically,
if James wants to eat his rabbit, that's his prerogative; I'm definitely NOT
going to send money to stop him. Animals die and are eaten every day. The
real point is do we care about the people that are being scammed. Ok, you
might say if they are stupid enough to send money, that's their problem.
However, it's usually not stupidity that causes them to send money, but
feelings...compassion for a life in this case. Heartless commerce is out of
control and being esteemed above all else in the corporate world today. That
was the way they were coldly discussing it, and it made me think if Mr
Parsons is so careless in this instance, what kind of business proprietor is
he and what kind of integrity does he have? I felt ashamed of having my
domain names hosted there. I'll take the compassionate idiots any day.

Actually, it doesn't do much good us venting here. I've been considering a
letter directly to Bob Parsons, basically stating the same thing that I said
here. Of course he doesn't have anything directly to do with it, but he
should know that his customers don't appreciate a heartless business man and
that he may lose some of us because of it.

Let me clue you in... there is no website out there, not a single one,
that doesn't offend or piss someone off. I would much rather go with a
webhosting provider that doesn't shut down sites on a whim or because
people find something offensive. I've dealt with lots of people who've
lost their websites because some idiot complained and harassed the
hosting company.

Just because you don't agree with the decisions a companies made does
not make them bad business decision. Just because they're not the
decisions you would make does not make them bad. It makes them
different.

Do whatever you want with your money, support GoDaddy or don't, that's
your decision and I have no problem with what you decide. But,
seriously, if you knew the crap that people wanted websites shut down
over, you might value a web hosting company that would not shut down
sites just because people didn't like the content of the site.

I understand your point of view Laura,
but I think you misunderstood my view point. GodDaddy isn't hosting the
SaveToby.com site. Bob Parsons, a lawyer, and the GoDaddy radio show host
were talking about it and they interviewed James the owner of the SaveToby
site.
I was angry and disgusted with the way they sang the praises of the guy for
his innovative website concept. The female lawyer's comment was that she
wanted to marry the guy because she thought he was so brilliant. Ok, if you
think scamming is so brilliant. You would have to hear the radio show to get
the full picture.

My comment about Bob Parsons is just that if he thinks James is such a
wunderkind for thinking this scam up, he's warped, and anyone else who
thinks so is too IMO. Whatever happened to sanity, integrity and
compassion?? That is why I don't have a good feeling about having my domain
name hosted there anymore. I didn't expect Parsons to lead some kind of
crusade against SaveToby, but at least to show some kind of humanity or
normal disgust at what is truly disgusting...not sing it's praise.

I know there are a lot of people with controversial sites out there, and
I'll be the first person to fight for freedom on the internet since we've
just about lost it everywhere else. I believe that individuals control their
internet simply by NOT viewing sites they find offensive. Ignoring SaveToby
would pretty much kill it, and I wouldn't waste my time going after these
people unless they were breaking the law and endangering others. But I will
still voice my opinion on what I feel is a degradation of our sense of good
and evil, and an increasing hardness of heart.
