I'd just like to extend my sincere condolenses on your loss.
I lost my hammy last year through a very similar illness and I was very
upset by her passing.

I`m very sorry to hear of Cheeky`s death. You did the right thing by her and
gave her the
best gift possible at that point. She led a full life with a friend who
loved her and kept her well. Please accept my sympathies and condolences.

loss...just last night I was thinking how much I love my Perka and don't
wanna lose her, and I started crying...I understand your pain...

I had Cheeky put down Saturday. She had been very sick for about 10 days.
She wasn't eating or drinking so I was having to force feed her several
times a day. I toke her to the vet several times and they gave me
antibiotics to give her and they would give her fluids under her skin to
help hydrate her. They also gave me the mixture of water, vitamins, and
glucose to feed her. Friday she was to the point that she would fall on her
side and couldn't get back up, and Saturday very early morning she started
to squeak in pain. I couldn't take seeing her like that, so I brought her
to the vet and had her put to sleep. Cheeky was a wonderful hamster and I
am going to miss her very much, she was just over two years. I attached a
picture of her.
