Default Rats and Bathtubs

Hi Everyone

Thanks for all your tips about my hairless rats and their protein
intake.
I have a second question you all may be able to help me with:

I heard rats really like playing in water and they enjoy swimming.
Being that my rats are hairless, does that change things?

If I were to put them in, say, a bathtub, how much water (half an inch
or so?) do I put in the bottom to make a safe shallow pool...?

And at what temperature of water? (for the hairless rats)?
Tepid? Lukewarm? Cooler?

Thanks everyone!

Some rat like bath most will think you are trying to kill them with the
water. lol But if you start young, you may be able to get them to like it.
lukewarm is good maybe a little warmer. You give it a try and see how
they like it.

Well my rats always hated baths and would act like I was the cruelest
rat-mum in the world for putting them through such torture, lol - they would
fall out with me big style for a couple of hours afterwards! I think the
way to go is to get them used to water when they are young and not put them
in alone. Make the water pretty shallow at first, and put things in the
bath tub that they can climb onto, like an upturned dish or a couple of
bricks, then if they want to get out of the water they can climb onto an
island. When I'm bathing an animal I always test the water temperature with
my elbow so it's just a nice temperature - nowhere near as warm as us humans
like it though!
