Default R.I.P.

Well, we had to put our little guy down a few weeks ago. He has had
respiratory problems for a while now, and we've had him on medication,
and we found a really good vet here in Florida when we moved, but
despite all the work and TLC he was being given, the medicine quit
working. He lost over 40 grams, and was 295 grams when we had to have
him put to sleep (~10 oz). He could hardly breathe, and his
extremeties were getting bluish. All in all, not good. So I took him
to the vet, and before I even told her our decision, she asked me if
we considered euthanization. So, I went back, picked up my wife, and
we stayed with him through the whole thing. I've never had to go
through that, and it's really hard. My wife said that it may be a long
time before we get another one, because this is the 9th one she's had
that she's had to have put to sleep. 3 years is just too short a time
to say hello, get to really know your rat(s) as a friend and
companion, and then have to say goodbye. We will have another one(s)
eventually, but I think for now we're just going to settle on a dog
.

R.I.P. Lemmi, you'll be missed.

Chris

My thoughts are with you at this sad time. It is hard having to say goodbye
to these sweet little creatures after only a short time, as they touch our
hearts so. But they do leave us with a lifetime of treasured memories )

Take care.

My thoughts are with you and your wife. I can appreciate how sad it is but
3 years are still 3 years you wouldn't have wanted to miss for the world..
Take care and maybe one day you will get the dreaded GFMR syndrome.

Kind regards Kate

So sorry to hear of the loss of Lemmi :-(

I know what you mean about the pain of euthanasia. We've had to put 8 of our
9 departed boys to sleep and it never gets any easier. Just makes you ache
so much, seeing them there looking at you. *sigh* Lemmi is at Rainbow Bridge
tonight and returned to youthful, playfulness surrounded with lots of ratty
friends.

I know that's very hard. But from what I read somewhere that they don't
know that they died, because as soon as they died, their spirits are
alive then. You probably brought Lemmi's spirit with you home when he
climbed in your arms to your shoulder. :-) God bless you.

hmmm. ?

Animals go to heaven..as far as I believe. Like people...if they don't
want to pass over for some reason..they won't..however there are beings
over there that help their souls to reach the light.

Blessings

Animals and people do reincarnate. When you die, the front door's open
and u step outside- it's heaven. U haven't die yet, u step outside to
the front door is earth. I will show you my home page later.
