Default RIP Pip

My girlfriend's having her beloved Pip put to sleep today. It is the best
for him, he's got several tumours and is covered with sores and scabs, very
sad day though :-(

Bye Pip!

Hey,

I am new to this group, but just saying I am thinking of you as I lost my
little hamster McCartney a while back. They have such personalities,

Take care,

P

Hi Pieman,

Thanks for that, I've been telling her about the Rainbow Bridge, she's not
heard of that before.

Popped round her house last night to leave her a note and got the door shut
in my face ;-)

We all grieve differently, I was really moody and wanted to be left alone
when I had to have my cat put to sleep a few years ago, so empathise with
her.

She's asked me round tonight though, once she's had some space.

I'm sorry to hear about Pip. Its a hard decision even if it is the best
thing to do. Hes out of pain now and I do believe happily scampering
somewhere.

Its a hard thing to cope with so be patient with your girlfriend. As you say
people grieve in different ways.

Come back to the group sometime. I'm between hamsters myself at the moment
and I find the stories and hamster pictures quite comforting.

Hi Hilary,

Thanks for that. I went round Friday evening and she talked about him a
lot more.

She brought him home from the vets and buried him in a plant pot on her
patio, with a nice homemade cross in the soil. She joked about him
becoming good plant-food!

She's still got another hamster, Bluebell, who she rescued from her
neighbours who didn't really get on well with hamsters, and she was
playing with Bluebell as much as she has done before Pip died, which
was a good sign.
