Default Was two, now one

Woke up this morning to find that one of my hamsters had passed on.

I had two female dwarfs (both pet shop rejects), and now only Blinky is
left. She's a one-eyed Winter White (lost her eye in a pet shop fight)

Is she OK on her own, or should I be looking for another female?

Thanks in advance.

So sorry for your loss.

Odds are if you put another "stranger" in with Blinky they will fight.

Even blood siblings don't get along together forever all the time. We had 3
brothers we had to eventually split up for fighting, and they each did very
well on their own.

Pay some extra attention to Blinky when she's up and about and she'll adjust
fine I'm sure.

Thanks for that good advice. It makes a lot of sense.

Poor old Blinky....I cleaned everything out this morning, and did some
liberal 'pet-safe' disinfecting...although I assumed Squidgy died of old age
(18 months-ish) I figured a good clean and disinfect wouldn't hurt, just in
case...but Blinky looks kind of lost.

I should add she wasn't the agressor in the fight where she lost her
eye...if anything she was the lucky survivor in a rampage from an evil
little grey dwarf, which left 4 dead and half-eaten, and Blinky huddled in
the corner with a lot of damage to her face....never seen hamster
cannibalism before (yuk!)...and the pet shop owner was a lot more careful
about introducing new stock after that incident.
