HELP
What trouble will I get if a three year old clutch of 8 parakeets, are put
with a 4
year old clutch of 6 parakeets. Equal males and females except one male is
dad of the
small clutch. Will an aviary of all girls and one of all boys co-exist next
to
each other ok? Eggs are starting to fall and birds are pairing up. I don't
want any more babies. Thanks

My guess is that it would be ok, as long as they have plenty of room and
perches for everyone. Watch for bullying, and make sure that there are
plenty of different food dishes for everyone to minimize fighting. If you
notice any serious fighting remove the offender, etc. In other words, just
keep a carefull eye on things. Personally I don't think it would be a
problem, budgies live in huge flocks in the wild. I'm assuming that these
guys are all the same species, some parakeet species do not mix well with
others.
