burglars or allow burglary), there's a lot of grey in the middle, and
that's where the concept of reasonable force has to be assessed.
As stated earlier, over the last few years several other householders
have killed intruders without any penalty, so what's the difference
here? It seems obvious to me that the jury recognised an element of
intent and unreasonableness in TM's actions, which excluded him from
that defence.
