It is a well-known fact that Airbus, the European jetbuilder
had been lobbying Democratic politicians hard in the 1990s
to obtain lucrative defense contracts. Is this what the Democrats
want? To put money into the hands of Europeans (governments too,
Airbus is not a private company) instead of giving it to an
American firm, especially when air traffic and plane sales were hurt
by 9/11?
