Man hurt in city shooting

A man is in hospital after being injured in a shooting incident.

He was in a stable condition following events in Birmingham on Thursday
night, a West Midlands Police spokesman said.
The incident, which happened at 8pm on Aston Church Road in Nechells, is the
second shooting in the area in a week.

A mother-of-three was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight between two
rival gangs outside her home in neighbouring Aston on Monday.

She was shot in the shoulder as she leaned out of the first-floor window of
her house as two groups of youths opened fire on each other.
