I was born and raised an Episcopalian and was an ardent churchgoer until
I moved to Rochester in 1998. Shortly after moving here there was a ***
candidate for Bishop of the Diocese of Rochester who narrowly lost . . .
that was too much for me.

I don't have any problems with attending services with homo***uals. It
doesn't bother me to take Communion with a homo***ual. It doesn't bother
me to have homo***uals in the Church vestry or as a Sunday School
teacher. We're all sinners, in our own ways, seeking God's grace.

What I do have a problem with, however, is the hijacking of my faith by
politically correct opportunists who are only seeking a favorable
position to further the acceptance or tolerance of their eccentricities.

I am still an Episcopalian and always will be. One day I'll find a
parish that practices Episcopalianism (they are out there) and I will
return.

does not say one word about homo***uality, they did not have
the concept of homo***uality back then, so how could they have
a sin for that which does not exist, in their minds. The sin is of idolatry
in the giving of the seed (***** and children) to the fertility gods
as Baal, Molech and Venus in the ***ual rituals to these fertility gods

The rituals performed in Ugaritic worship involved a great deal
of alcohol and ***ual promiscuity. Worship at Ugarit was
essentially a drunken **** in which priests and worshippers
indulged in excessive drinking and excessive ***uality. This
because the worshippers were attempting to convince Baal
to send rain on their crops. Since rain and ***** were seen
in the ancient world as the same thing (as both produced fruit),
it simply makes sense that participants in fertility religion

Maybe, but homo***uality is not one of them. They were not
homo***uals they were hetero***uals having *** for the sole
purpose of a religious ritual, as the drinking the blood and
eating the body of Christ. Is that an act of cannibalism or a religious act?


Like promoting their bigotry and putting it into law for a mythical
sin of homo***uality, as the Pope and Bush are doing?

How are you on the subject of female priests? Twenty-five or so years
ago this was as vivid a question as the matter of a homo***ual
arch-bishop. It generated passionate rhetoric just as vivid as that
of today and it generated the same threats to abandon Episcopalianism.

I well remember an episode in which a newly ordained female priest was
offering a mass before a group of fellow priests. One of them, as she
offered the host, actually BIT her hand --

It says something about your faith when it can be so rattled by these
"opportunists." Or should I say lack of faith?


Because I've felt so alienated by most mainstream churches because of
their positions on homo***uality, I've really distanced myself from
the churches. Now I'll have to consider joining the Episcopalian
Church if they continue to strive for inclusiveness and respect for
all members.

executive in a corporation. He handles personnel problems and watches
the finances. You'll probably never meet the dude, and are certainly
not expected to do you know what with him.

You can always start your own church and simply clone the theology and
rituals to whatever extend you like - the U.S. Constitution gives you
that right. It also gives everyone else the right to laugh at you,
even if that would be bad manners :-).

I do not know of any churches that do not welcome ALL sinners, including
homo***uals. But churches that believe the Bible also believe that sin is to
be forsaken when you give your life to the Lord. The Episcopal church is not
the house of the Lord any longer. Indeed, it is a den of iniquity! They have
erred and will be held accountable for leading people astray and telling
them it is okay to go ahead and sin if you want to.So go ahead and elect all
the *** bishops and let them pronounce a blessing on same *** unions. It is
all in vain because God calls it "detestable,""unnatural," "an abomination."
How much clearer can He make it. He will not bless such a perverted union,
but He will call His true believers out of the sinful lifestyle. "But ye
believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you." "My sheep
