and

soldiers

I'm pleased you added "killing" instead of social justice, health
care, education, fairness, compassion and humanity 'cause well
you know the olde sayings such as

"do unto others as you do unto to them"
"do as I do not as I say"
"follow our examples"
"violence begets only more violence"

Ahh who the **** cares, eh ?

That's the best you can come up with? Come on Vox, I figures you to be
better than that, after all you do nothing but sit on your fat cowardly ass
and think up insults all day don't you? I guess you just hate to admit that
he's right and your wrong don't you? O well, there goes another jackass.

Well in combat the normal soldier really doesn't have time to thing about
all those things, he (or she) is usually concerned with just surviving and
accomlishing the mission, which is what he's sopposed to be doing.

Hey jay bird are you as ignorant as your posts illustrate ?

One would think, if one is able to think, that may be, just may
be, as a human bean first, a person should contemplate such
matters before he/she enlists ?

Even after enlisting a person should not lose the ability to
think and thus, in moments of tranquility, wonder if his/her
actions are doing anything to make the world, or a street
corner, a better place than it was the moment before he/she
commences an action.

However, considering that americaaan citizens are the most
violent society ever known to humanity such thoughts of
caring, sharing, compssaion, humanity, peaceful solutions
are quickly dispelled by thoughts of big guns, big SUVs,
big this and big that.

Of course in order to be successful in attaining the big
thises and big thats one has to compet and if one is
going to compet then one must be prepared to do
anything, and I do mean anything, to WIN.

'Cause, like, hey, like life is All About WINNING.

So just how ignorant are you ?

Hey james, ever been in combat (Sega and X-box games do not count)? If so
did you think about social justice, health care, education, fairness,
compassion, and humanity? I know I sure as hell didn't.

I agree but we were talking about soldiers, and they have already
enlisted.

Once again you are correct, becoming a soldier doesn't mean becoming a
robot, but we were talking about soldiers in combat meaning the action is
already underway. I don't know about you but my version of combat involves
allot of guns, bombs and things that generally blow up and go boom and I
wouldn't have much time to stop and reflect on life much until the job is
done.

I disagree with ya there, not all Americans like big SUVs and allot of us
would really enjoy peace.

In combat? well yeah.

Not as ignorant as you think, what about you?

"James Hall" <jhall@cuic.ca> iterated.....

Your credibility sure plummeted when it became apparent that,
after dropping the required history course in the Second Grade,
you had not bothered to re-enroll in another during the entire
remaining four years of your educational experience.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay
any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose
any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

Your correct, but during conflict (that is to say when people are actually
shooting at you) you wont have time to stop and reflect on those sort of
things, the thing in the front of you mind will be survival (at least it way for me).

Well armed combat is, winning means that you get to go home and think
about all those great things that you mentioned, losing means you die.

I may be ignorant, but I do know what combat is like.
