You couldn't be further from the truth. Most business owners I know, and
have worked for and with are some of the most down to earth people around.
They started with nothing and worked very hard to get where they are today.
They don't wear fancy clothes nor drive fancy cars - and even some that do I
know don't let it get to their head - they know their roots all to well.
They have more money than I can ever dream of making. These are the true
business leaders. Guys with grade 8 educations who now have mini empires.
Trucking firms. Waste management. Software companies. The most arrogant
people I meet are the workers who always complain and want more but don't
want to take a risk in life to own their own business and reap the extended
rewards that it may bring. I'm not saying all workers are like this. Most
are great and loyal people. That also implies that not all business owners
are not down to earth people. Yes, socialism comes from envy based on
everything I've experienced.

I'm not going to argue your position on capitalism but would point out
to you that socialism, or at least a basic form of it, allowed
humanity to crawl out of the caves and develop the tens of thousands
of years needed to arrive at capitalism. And you shouldn't dismiss it,
especially at this point in human history. Many kinds of possible
manmade or natural disasters may require us to revert to that form of
society again.

Socialism was born of necessity not of envy. And it seems to have served us well.

You need to get out more.

Socialism is based on the democratic assumption that all people are
equal and that each person deserves at least a minimum standard of
living in order to enable them to contribute fully to society.

Socialists don't like people who amass great wealth while exploiting
others or leaving them to starve... and who pervert the law to enable
them to do this.

I put it in those extreme terms so that you know that socialism isn't
jealousy.

It is a reaction to criminal capialism.
