State Supreme Court justices overruled Chief Justice Roy Moore on
Thursday and directed that his Ten Commandments monument be removed
from its public site in the Alabama Judicial Building.

A federal judge had ruled the monument violates the Constitution's ban
on government establishment of religion and must be removed from its
public place in the rotunda. He had set Thursday as his deadline, but
Moore said he would not move it.


This is an example of the chaos that can occur under President George
Bush's concept of a faith-based government. As for Chief Justice
More, he is bound by the same oath as the other justices. He should
be disbarred.

There is simply no excuse for using a public position of authority to
promote one's own version of religion.

It wasn't there before 1954 - so the pledge was without that phrase
for *far* longer than it was in. So let's return the pledge to how it
was written, shall we?

Tom: Same philosophy as the money, a recent insert( fifties) that was made
at the height of the communist witch hunts.


Tom: Why don't you do a little research and find out. I think you will find
that they weren't that high on "god". If you read the Constitution you will
find that the word "god" doesn't appear and that the only religious
reference that I could find was in the date when they refer to the year as
the year of "Our Lord". If the founding fathers had wanted Christianity in
government they had every chance in the world to put it in the Constitution,
yet they didn't. That should tell a logical man something.

If George wants a faith-based government, it's possible to give him a faith-based government.

There's a very wide variety of faiths in the USA.

George might be a little surprised at what he ends up with.
