Default The problem of forest fires

<snip>

The story you cut and pasted has absolutely no bearing on the subject of
cloud-seeding as a method of fighting forest fires. As another poster has
already pointed out, before you can use cloud-seeding, you need a cloud to
seed. The areas of BC where the forest fires are raging have NO clouds, and
exceptionally low humidity.

You are way out of your depth.

Cheers,

Jennifer

These areas have had cloud and thunderstorms over the past few weeks.
And no 'cloud seeding' to help with rain making. We need to start
looking at new fire-fighting methods, like the initial poster said.
Our current methods are antiquated and inefficient.

Don't forget that forest fires are a natural occurrence and necessary for
the reproduction of certain pines with serotinous cones. As forests mature
they become decadent and disease-ridden and a "naturally" occurring wildfire
helps to wipe them out and re-seed. The McLure fire and the Strawberry Hill
fire were in predominantly Ponderosa and Lodgepole pine forests, fire is
just the start of the next generation. Of course, it's a bad thing when
some idiot initiates the cycle by discarding a cigarette and burns up homes
and livelihoods.

Wrong on both counts, Ms. Hater.

You need low clouds or ***ulous clouds for cloud-seeding, not middle or high
clouds. Just for starters. Leave the science to the scientists, not the
anti-American, anti-Liberal, anti-this, anti-that, blockheads like yourself.

You mean thunderstorms with lightening causing forest fires?

Could you give us your qualifications for making statements on the efficacy
of cloud-seeding for fighting forest fires, and on making judgements about
our current methods of fighting forest fires? I predict you have NONE.

Cheers,

Jennifer

Well, you see Jen, KKKAren is an expert on EVERYTHING, dontcha know?

There isssssss no questioning her socialist pseudo intellect.

And, of course, her diatribe is a direct criticism of those longterm
members of the civil service that she is so proud to protect, er
criticize, er protect, .......

x-no-archive: yes

Of course she is. Just like she quoted the day's weather reports from
Whistler to do***ent her assertions that on the basis of that WX report
alone, the IOC would reject the Vancovuer 2010 bid in favour of Salzburg.

Oh, BTW, unfortunately, that same day the weather in Salzburg was
practically identical to that in Whistler.
