Toronto Sun Blames Chretien And Ottawa Liberals For Ontario's PowerCrisis
A Sunday Sun editorial titled "Of blackouts and black holes"
begins with a reference to the Chretien PMO originally stating
that the power outage was the result of an act of God, a ligtning
strike against a Niagara Falls N.Y. generating station.
Too bad this was not true, says the Sun. "A great zap from above
would have been a poetically just verdict on Chretien's latest
billion-dollar boondoggle: his so-called plan to implement the
Kyoto Accord, which CA leader Stephen Harper aptly refers to
as a $1.25 billion "black hole".
"What the recent blackout should have taught the Chretien Liberals
is that this government needs to get serious about Canada's
electrical energy generation and distribution NOW, about real things,
not global warming nonsense".
Sun writer Linda Williamson in her column "More political hot air, and
no air conditioning" begins, "This was going to be a column about Jean
Chretien's insane Kyoto strategy...nothing but the usual government
lesson in wastefulness".
