War for Oil Causes Haliburton's profits to soar
Well, well. The Iraqis may be dying by the carload (pan intended) but
at least ol' **** Cheney is raking in the cash. And now that the taxes
on dividends have been cut he get's to keep more of it too.
HOUSTON -- Halliburton Co. (NYSE:HAL - News) returned to
second-quarter profit from a year-earlier loss despite several hefty
charges, as projects in the Middle East and the weaker dollar boosted
revenue.
The Houston-based supplier of products and services to the petroleum
and energy industries, Thursday reported net income of $26 million, or
six cents a share, in contrast to a net loss of $498 million, or $1.15
a share, a year earlier[...]
