I ask the question because politicians are held in such low esteem,
regarded as lower than journalists and certainly not believed by the
bulk of the population nearly all of the time. Voting turnout is at an
all time low. A majority of the young couldn't give a shit about
politics. Go to an MP with a problem, if you can get the MP, usually
its one of their office staff, the first thing they do is tell you
what they cannot do. What they claim to be able to do is pretty
minimal. They can, however, draw a hefty salary, great expenses, well
paid part time jobs and of course chicks. The manifestos are brimming
with all sorts of goodies. But not this!

Its usually not the cause that is at fault. Generally speaking the
cause is usually laudable, honourable and humane. Its the scoundrels
and self-servers who on their way to getting their snout into the
trough and keeping it there hijack and distort the cause for their own
greedy cynical ends. Anyone getting in their way is destroyed. And
they tell such downright lies. The majority tend to be self-seeking
conniving and thoroughly untrustworthy individuals. Those who start
out idealistic prove the maxim, power corrupts. It just about gets
them all. It seems to me anyone seeking to gain political power,
whether it be starting a new party or standing for an elected
political office, in my mind has to be avoided like a dose of aids.

I'm baffled. Why should any honest decent person want to start a
political party let alone wish to be an MP, MSP, or for that matter
local councillor? And why ask other folks to join them. Come on.
We all know they have the right, but sweet Jesus....become a
politician!!!
