Default sendmail : sending mail to mailserver w/o DNS-MX

Hi ,

I want to send mail via sendmail , to a specific smtp-host in my network.

With hpux, I simply change some lines in the sendmail.cf file , the Dj$w
for the appropiate domain and the DS parameter for the specific ip-adres.
The last thing i change is the dot in the /etc/hosts file for that
sending host (localhost)

When i do this in RedHat 7.x it gives me a dead-letter in stead of a
nice mail-transfer, or with 8.x it will be send to localhost..:-(

What am i missing here????

Please let me know!

Michel

Edit sendmail.mc and re-create the .cf file from it - directly modifying
the sendmail.cf is not recommended.

You're probably looking for SMART_HOST, see cf/README.
