This is an open invitation to the Holiday Party of the Bay Area Friends
of Eiffel, for people with an interest in the Eiffel programming language. The meeting will take place at Mark's house in Orinda, on Thursday, December 8. The meeting will start at 6:30. A G E N D A Business: Recent Announcements: The International Eiffel Programming Contest deadline has passed, and the entries are now before the judges. Our own Neal Lester has released a major enhancement to the Goanna Project. http://sourceforge.net/projects/goanna Roger Browne continues to improve Amber, his Eiffel-like scripting langauge with release 0.3.1: http://xamber.org/index.html Andreas Leitner has announced the release of AutoTest 1.0.0 http://se.inf.ethz.ch/people/leitner/auto_test/ The SmartEiffel 1.2 Fork, version 5, has also been release. This project is intended to gives longtime users of the SmartEiffel compiler a version that that fixes errors and adds enhancements in a backward compatible way. http://freshmeat.net/projects/smarteiffel/ The University of York has announced First International Symposium on Concurrency, Real-Time and Distribution in Eiffel-like Languages (CORDIE'06) and has published a call for papers. http://www-users.cs.york.ac.uk/~paige/cordie06.htm The SmartEiffel team continues to blaze their own trail with a candidate release for version 2.2. The most controversial change (that I've noticed) is that the language is now case sensitive. http://smarteiffel.loria.fr Presentation: Eric Bezault of Gobo Fame will give us an introduction to the much anticipated Gobo Eiffel Compiler. The latest word is that the GEC can compile itself, but is not yet yeard for wider distribution.
