Default Which Palms...

I have an application where I will be using a laser gun, like the bar
code scanners at checkouts, to read a bar code. This will then
look up some information in a Delphi (paradox) database on a wifi
network and display it.

And... I was thinking. UH oh...

I could also use a Palm or similar device. Just have the operator
'key in' (or pen in) the minimal info and then have it all displayed...

But it would take a totally unique program to do it.

Before I even consider it, I'd be looking for a Palm that is visible
outdoors in the sunlight. And it would have to have WiFi. And
development would have to be able to look at some paradox
type databases on the net.

Since I'm not familiar with all the Palms, I was just wondering
what models might be a good recommendation of what to start
looking at.

I think you will find that battery life is very limited when
using WiFi. Also, I don't know of any Palms that can be
read in sunlight.

Ah... Progress... I have an old Palm IIIc and it's great in subdued
lighting. I also have a Palm Vx and it's great in sunlight, but both only
have slow speed serial. And besides, I'm gonna have to go with a
'current' model.

I guess it's back to Symbol.
