Hi NG!
My webserver seems to be very unstable since I added new hardware (epox mainboard with nforce2), I assume the nic (D-Link 550TX) using the ste driver is the troublemaker. The box crashes at a high load of ftp and/or http requests. I don't know how to track the crash, maybe it comes to a kernel panic? how can i find out? I will replace the nic as soon as possible, hope it will get better then. kindly, andreas dmesg output: OpenBSD 3.3 (GENERIC) #44: Sat Mar 29 13:22:05 MST 2003 deraadt@i386.openbsd.org:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC cpu0: AMD Athlon XP Model 8 (Thoroughbred) ("AuthenticAMD" 686-class) 2.01 GHz cpu0: FPU,V86,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,PAE,MCE,CX8,APIC,SYS,MTRR,P GE,MCA,CMOV,PAT,PSE36,MMX, FXSR,SIMD real mem = 1039712256 (1015344K) avail mem = 959148032 (936668K) using 4278 buffers containing 52088832 bytes (50868K) of memory mainbus0 (root) bios0 at mainbus0: AT/286+(9b) BIOS, date 02/25/03, BIOS32 rev. 0 @ 0xfb4b0 apm0 at bios0: Power Management spec V1.2 apm0: AC on, battery charge unknown pcibios0 at bios0: rev. 2.1 @ 0xf0000/0xdf84 pcibios0: PCI IRQ Routing Table rev. 1.0 @ 0xfdeb0/208 (11 entries) pcibios0: PCI Exclusive IRQs: 5 11 12 pcibios0: no compatible PCI ICU found pcibios0: Warning, unable to fix up PCI interrupt routing pcibios0: PCI bus #2 is the last bus bios0: ROM list: 0xc0000/0xb000 0xcc000/0x4000! 0xd0000/0x1800 pci0 at mainbus0 bus 0: configuration mode 1 (no bios) pchb0 at pci0 dev 0 function 0 "Nvidia nForce2 Host-PCI" rev 0xa2 "Nvidia nForce2" rev 0xa2 at pci0 dev 0 function 1 not configured "Nvidia nForce2" rev 0xa2 at pci0 dev 0 function 2 not configured "Nvidia nForce2" rev 0xa2 at pci0 dev 0 function 3 not configured "Nvidia nForce2" rev 0xa2 at pci0 dev 0 function 4 not configured "Nvidia nForce2" rev 0xa2 at pci0 dev 0 function 5 not configured pcib0 at pci0 dev 1 function 0 "Nvidia nForce2 PCI-ISA" rev 0xa3 "Nvidia nForce2 SMBus" rev 0xa2 at pci0 dev 1 function 1 not configured ohci0 at pci0 dev 2 function 0 "Nvidia nForce2 USB" rev 0xa3pci_intr_map: no mapping for pin A : couldn't map interrupt ohci1 at pci0 dev 2 function 1 "Nvidia nForce2 USB" rev 0xa3: irq 12, OHCI version 1.0, legacy support usb0 at ohci1: USB revision 1.0 uhub0 at usb0 uhub0: vendor 0x0000 OHCI root hub, class 9/0, rev 1.00/1.00, addr 1 uhub0: 3 ports with 3 removable, self powered "Nvidia nForce2 USB2" rev 0xa3 at pci0 dev 2 function 2 not configured "Nvidia nForce2 LAN" rev 0xa1 at pci0 dev 4 function 0 not configured "Nvidia nForce2 Audio Processing unit" rev 0xa2 at pci0 dev 5 function 0 not configured auich0 at pci0 dev 6 function 0 "Nvidia nForce2 AC-97 Audio" rev 0xa1: irq 11, nForce2 AC97 ac97: codec id 0x414c4720 (Avance Logic <20>) ac97: codec features 20 bit DAC, 18 bit ADC, Realtek 3D audio0 at auich0 ppb0 at pci0 dev 8 function 0 "Nvidia nForce2 PCI-PCI" rev 0xa3 pci1 at ppb0 bus 1 ste0 at pci1 dev 6 function 0 "D-Link Systems 550TX" rev 0x14: irq 11 address 00:05:5d:7a:d5:82 ukphy0 at ste0 phy 1: Generic IEEE 802.3u media interface ukphy0: OUI 0x0090c3, model 0x0004, rev. 0 pciide0 at pci0 dev 9 function 0 "Nvidia nForce2 IDE" rev 0xa2: DMA, channel 0 configured to compatibility, channel 1 configured to compatibility wd0 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 0: <ST340014A> wd0: 16-sector PIO, LBA48, 38166MB, 16383 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 78165360 sectors wd1 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 1: <ST340014A> wd1: 16-sector PIO, LBA48, 38166MB, 16383 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 78165360 sectors wd0(pciide0:0:0): using PIO mode 4, Ultra-DMA mode 2 wd1(pciide0:0:1): using PIO mode 4, Ultra-DMA mode 2 wd2 at pciide0 channel 1 drive 0: <ST340810A> wd2: 16-sector PIO, LBA, 38166MB, 16383 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 78165360 sectors wd2(pciide0:1:0): using PIO mode 4, Ultra-DMA mode 2 "Nvidia nForce2 FireWire" rev 0xa3 at pci0 dev 13 function 0 not configured ppb1 at pci0 dev 30 function 0 "Nvidia nForce2 Host-AGP" rev 0xa2 pci2 at ppb1 bus 2 vga1 at pci2 dev 0 function 0 vendor "Nvidia", unknown product 0x1f0 rev 0xa3 wsdisplay0 at vga1: console (80x25, vt100 emulation) wsdisplay0: screen 1-5 added (80x25, vt100 emulation) isa0 at pcib0 isadma0 at isa0 pckbc0 at isa0 port 0x60/5 pckbd0 at pckbc0 (kbd slot) pckbc0: using irq 1 for kbd slot wskbd0 at pckbd0: console keyboard, using wsdisplay0 pcppi0 at isa0 port 0x61 midi0 at pcppi0: <PC speaker> sysbeep0 at pcppi0 lpt0 at isa0 port 0x378/4 irq 7 npx0 at isa0 port 0xf0/16: using exception 16 pccom0 at isa0 port 0x3f8/8 irq 4: ns16550a, 16 byte fifo pccom1 at isa0 port 0x2f8/8 irq 3: ns16550a, 16 byte fifo fdc0 at isa0 port 0x3f0/6 irq 6 drq 2 biomask d040 netmask d840 ttymask d8c2 pctr: user-level cycle counter enabled mtrr: Pentium Pro MTRR support dkcsum: wd0 matched BIOS disk 80 dkcsum: wd1 matched BIOS disk 81 wd2: no disk label dkcsum: wd2 matched BIOS disk 82 root on wd0a rootdev=0x0 rrootdev=0x300 rawdev=0x302 WARNING: / was not properly unmounted |
