Default A: Drive not accessible

How can I fix my A:\ floppy drive on a Compaq Presario 425 computer running
windows 95? I
receive an error message: A:\ is not accessible. An attempt was made to
load a program with
incorrect format. Another piece of the puzzle. The computer seems to
fragment frequently. Meaning
I defrag and the very next day it needs to be defragged.
Best wishes, Lester

You're now trying to read a properly-fomatted floppy, no? It's not
clear what you mean by the last line.

Not necessarily a problem. How much (%) does it fragment per day? In
any case, runscandisk with surface scan, to see how your HD platters
are doing. If there are a lot of bad sectors, and worse, if the number
of bads increases over a few scans, you've got a failing HD. Hope
that's not the case. - vb
