Default Best Linux InfraRed PC Remote

Hello all,

I am building a linux PC around the MythTV distrobution for allowing my
family to be able to hook the modified PC upto the TV and record TV shows
and so forth. Basically a modified-homebuilt TiVo setup. So far everything
is going really good, except I am going to need an InfraRed remote and I'm
wondering what is the best IR remote to go for that has the best, somewhat,
or even little linux driver support.

I am very experienced with linux, I'm just wondering what hardware would be
available. Several motherboards I have do have built in IR support and some
do not. Even addin PCI cards would be alright as well.

Have you seen http://www.lirc.org/? The remote on my hauppagge worked
fine. The receiver on my mitac 6120n laptop worked fine. Note about the
happaugge remotes: If you lose the remoted, you can't just use any other
remote. If you build your own, you should be able to use any remote.

Wasn't there a project going on for the X10 remotes that ATI's "Remote
Wonders" use? Come to think of it, I believe my computer picks it up .... I
just have no use for it as the computer is not connected to a TV.
