Cheerio for now !
Where I live, there is an endangered bird called the Gnatcatcher,
which has caused much environmental controversy. Whenever I mow, one
comes out and gets happy as a lark over the all-you-can-eat bug-bar.
Hummingbirds buzz up and stare me right in the face! There last nest
was right in front of the bay window on top of a bush. Also get a
large hawk on the FM antenna, so big he sways it back and forth. He's
buzzed me a couple of times, swoops down absolutely silent, scares the
heck out of people. Once got the cat up to about 20 feet before
dropping him. Used to be a pair of Golden Eagles nesting nearby, but
the fellow there cut down the trees (Eucalyptus attacked by lerps).
I've found far too many well-fed Black Widows.
We've had several, including some firefighters who want to appear
heroic. Not to mention the people who store the planes elsewhere
during the fall and winter, when fall is the hottest and driest time
of year here.
