Default Deinstalling Delphi 7 kills BDS2006?

Now this is downright weird. I de-installed Delphi 7 to make some room
on my hard disk.

BDS2006 behaves weird ever since .

Whenever I compile and start an application, BDS2006 starts the windows
installer and requests the BDS2006 CD. So I insert BDS2006 CD1 and click OK.

Then it requests CD#2. So I insert it, and click OK.

The next thing I get is "internal error 2920 deploy.htm" and the Windows
installer immediately restarts this procedure in an endless loop.

The only thing I can do is press "cancel", but the next day this
procedure will
start again and again.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I am beginning to develop a strong
antipathy against the MSI install mechanism. This ain't the first time
the MSI
installer ruined an otherwise perfectly healthy system for me.

Default Deinstalling Delphi 7 kills BDS2006? Found it!

One good thing about MSI installer is that it writes its messages into
the event log.

De de-installer of Delphi 7 deletes the registry key
"HKLM\Software\Borland\Borland Shared"
that BDS2006 also needs. I re-created the key and all is well now.
