Hi,
i've installed Delphi2005 (with update 2) on three PC: 2 desktop and 1
laptop; in one of deskop and in laptop, when I try to create an ASP .NET
project (ever in Delphi and C#) i have a blue screen death message:
STOP: 0x0000007F (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

It seems an hardware problem, but vhy VS 2003 works correctly ?

And I've the same problem with Delphi 8.
Am I a bit unlucky ?

Fortunately, I've found a PC that works correctly... but it's my older PC
(so the slower)

In some newgroup I've seen someone that had the same problem, but without
solution !
Someone who can help me ?

Hi Massimo,
From WindowsXP inside out book:-
Go to Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q137539 this explaines the error
code.
It is most likly to be a memory error/missmatched memory/Bad CPU/ or a
system where the processor is being overclocked or a failure in the fan or
PSU overheating.

Could be that the memory is to slow to match the processor speed/buss speed.
Maybe you have been supplied with some bad hardware tweeked to go faster and
therefore sold at a higher price?

Could be some bug in .NET with somehing that Borland uses, but VS 2003 do
not.

Since this is a bluescreen error, it is mutch more likely that this has
something to do with microsofts .NET framework, or your hardware.

if I had only 1 PC with this problem...
But two !
One of these is a laptop Acer TravelMate 422LC, never modified. Acer is a
serious PC manufacturer...
I've deactivate hardware acceleration but nothing...
I have tons of sw installed, 6 (six) developer environment (VB 6, VS .NET
2003, Pocket Studio for Palm OS, Zend Studio for php web sites developement,
Delphi 7, Delphi 2005).
But the only program that cause this problem is Delphi 2005 (and Delphi 8).
And i'm not alone: try to search with Google, in Newsggroups, "delphi" &
"asp" & "blue screen".

I still think that this has something to do with the .NET framework.

Specially since this is only a problem with ASP.NET under Delphi8 and D2005.

Hi,

I think the newsgroup thread led to a thinking that
a certain video card was at fault, but not all machines
with that video card show the BSOD. Then, in one of
the QC reports, in which it was said that it showed
up on multiple machines, a comment was added by
the original poster, that a complete clean re-config
of one of the problem machines resulted in the problem
going away. So maybe it is a combination of several
things, e.g. an OEM Windows setup (e.g. when Sony or
Dell sets up the OS their way, .NET framework,
hardware, video).

What I have to do if I must develop an ASP .NET application with my
preferred PC (the only one wich works is very slow...)?
Are there other solutions than "buy anhoter PC" or "use MS VS 2003/5" ?

You could ofcourse try reinstalling your OS. But with the tons of software
you have installed, I guess it willl take a good amount of time to make it
work again. But if you have the time, I would recommend that you install
D2005 first. Then for each other .NET related item you install, check if the
bluescreen is back. This way you might find what software that is actually
responsible for this mess.

I think that maybe VS.NET might be making trouble for D2005. Microsoft are
famous for their way of integrating their tools straight into the core of
the system. Some of these hacks might be trouble for D2005's way of doing
things. If I where you, I would try having D2005 and VS2003 on separate
machines.

i've called the european call center of Borland, it seems a problem not yet
solved for machines with processor's speed more than 1 Ghz.
It's true, on my Athlon 500 MHz Delphi 2005 works correctly !
