Default Good text on x86 asm?

Greetings, I have been fumbling through amazon.com trying to decide on a
good text for teaching myself assembly for x86 (as the bookstores near me
seem not to carry anything of that technical magnitude unfortunately).

I was hoping for a couple (at least one) good reference as to a book that is
tried and true. I am not in the hopes of starting some long troll/war-like
thread between people, just their honest advice.

I have a strong background in C and C++ (so learning the logic is not an
issue, or maybe it might be for this, don't know).

Anyway, thank you for your time and advice!

You might not need to buy a book. I have a free on-line one you might
want to at least look at first:

You might also look at another popular on-line book: The Art of Assembly.
A simple google search will give you the URL.
