Default Identify Outlook MSG file format

Does anyone out there know how to distinguish between an MS Outlook
..MSG file and other MS Office Do***ents within a Linux development
environemt? Specifically, the magic number for Office Docs (excel,
word, .MSG message file) are all the same. So, the unix "file"
command, as well as the magic library calls, all identify .MSG files as
"Microsoft Office Do***ent."

So, does anyone know (preferably some method which can be trasnlated
into Linux "C/C++" code) how to distinguish and identify the Outlook
message?

(I would appreciate if any replies to the list would also include a CC
to me, since my newsgroup reader is not working right now.)

Thanks,
Larry
