Installing 8.1.7 client (win2k)
Hi,
I've downloaded 8.1.7 client for Win2k but cannot run it. When I click setup the hourglass is coming and then nothing.  I managed to run it on another win2k machine... I checked the running services but in vain.. I thought it was a jre version running but even with the last one installed, it doesn't help.. Besides, the install comes with its own version of jre so it shouldn't be the problem... Has anybody come across this issue ? TIA, Regards Nicky. |

Can't run what? The installer? What is the CPU in the machine?

There is a problem with the installer on Pentium IV machines. If you
search on google (groups) you will find the related postings and the remedies. I did install 817 on a windows 2000 machine running on an AMD cpu and do not have the reported problem. Hope this proves useful. Zafer AKTAN Oracle DBA/Developer |
