Default ISE Studio 5

Hello!
I downloaded the free edition of eiffel studio 5 from ise because I
want to write my cs projects in eiffel, but I am not sure if that
studio can produce a stand alone executable. If I run a project from
studio it produces the correct output, but if I copy the exe to
another directory, it seems to be doing something strange. There is
also a .melted file which I am not sure what it's for. I need to be
done in a few days with my project and to give the exe to the
professor so I need to know if that studio will do the job. Also, can
anyone recomment a good tutorial on how to design a dialog box (like
putting different controls etc.) in eiffel. I was also wondering, is
there any jobs that are looking for eiffel programmers or any big
companies that use it.
I kind of like the language, it would be a pity to use it only for
little college projects.

I appriciate all the help.

You need both the .exe and the .melted unless you are producing a
finalized version. In the latter case you need only the .exe.

All three options (melt/freeze/finalize) can be found under the
Project menu item.

What are those oprions (melt, freeze and finalize)? Do I need to run
then one after another if I want to produce the finalized version or
just "finalize"? What is "melted ice" technology?
Thank you

You only need to run finalize.

The other questions are explained in the online help file which I
assume even the free version has. Else it is on ISE's
website. Basically they have to do with speed of execution versus
compilation time.

There is an explanation of the "Melting Ice" technology here:
