Morning all
Hi.
I may post once in a blue moon but - I
too still read this although truthfully
I could get my spam elsewhere !
My buz is still in my machine and still
being used - has a security cam and
motion detection software attached.
For quality video I too have gone
firewire - easy and, well, it just
works. (except for the occasional audio
sync problems from consumer camcorders
using unlocked audio - and no you really
really don't want to get me started on
that one).
Actually so does my Buz, work that is,
but only since I went to Linux. Now I'm
not suggesting this as a reason to ditch
windows - I still dual boot and the main
OS at home is Windows98 - but if you
ever try linux give the mjpegtools site
a look on sourceforge - there is a
working driver and software tools to go
with it for mjpeg. If the Buz had stuff
like this when it was released then...
The sad thing about the Buz is it was
mostly very good. The PCI interface
problems let it down. That and Iomega -
haven't bought or recommended an Iomega
product since.
One thing about the Buz it does still
produce great results with a small
harddrive - when I have several hours of
capture I still use it - guess I need
yet a bigger hard drive.
Best wishes to loyal Buz fans (aka
masochists) everywhere.
Michael
