Try flash help first. Try the tutorials later.

I found Lynda Weinman's book: "Hands-On Traning for Flash MX" very useful. You
can purchase it @ http://www.lynda.com/. I got a used copy on Ebay for just
under $10 including shipping. The CD that comes with the book has all the
tutorial files along with some nice Quicktime movies. The Tutorial books from
Macromedia are good too and the PDF file that comes with Studio MX: "Using
Flash MX".pdf is excellent, I kept it open in the background while I did the
HOT tutorial (the forementioned Lynda book). Hope that helps : )

that is like saying you bought a hammer, nails and some wood - now how do i build a house. too much
to type out - too many variables. are you a designer? developer? skill level? learning curve?
as other said - try help - it's there for you - it explains a whole lot about the program - then
google terms you wish to understand that go beyond the help docs - you will find there is a ton of
sources readily available and a lot faster than waiting for someone to type out everything there is
to know (which is likely to not happen as it would fill a few books).

these forums work when the wuestions are about specific issues rather than extremely general issues
about how to learn the entire program - hope this helps.

Hello,
You need to open up flash and click on "Help" in the top menu.
Then "Getting started with Flash". Work your way through each lesson.
This is what most people do. If you take the time to do this you will have a
solid foundation in Flash.
If you dont, you will quickly get bogged down.
Its an excellent program and well worth learning.
Cheers
Alan

yeah - i agree and same advice i already gave - use the help docs (F1) - they are plenty to give you
solid basics - these forums are also good reading - they helped me tremendously when i started -
just continue to learn the program and read these forums and eventually, over time, you will become
very familiar with flash - it is your own skill level and talent and aptitude that will detirmine
how fast you learn, how much you learn, and how you apply that knowledge.
