Since using autostart batch jobs against our Ingres 2.6 sp2 Windows 2003
server database, we often get the error "number of users has exceeded
limit", which then stops an interactive user from connecting to the
database.

We have configured cursor_limit = 16, connect_limit = 32, active_limit = 32.

Can I just simply increase these values to, say, double the present values?
Will that have any adverse effects on locking or memory usage?
Should any other settings be increased, or will they all be automatically
derived from the new values?
