Default Problem with running Hawk Debugger

Hi,
I have a problem with hawk debugger.The problem is that I can't load a
module or connect to my target for debugging via hawk.My CPU card is a
VM62(PEP) card and it has the right modules to work with debugger on
it(it is tested on another computer and it works properly but it
doesn't work on my computer(a win2000),I know the problem is on side
of my computer host but I can't find the problem. Can anyone kindly
guide me?
thanks a lot,

How about some details. What version of Hawk, OS9 on the PEP
boards, any error messaages or what the failure is. I run Hawk
on a W2K machine and talk to 68K/ PPC / and X86 targets all day
long.

What are IP addresses/masks on host and target?
Have you tried to ping target from host?

Jennifer
What are the IP addresses and masks of the OS9 Box and the W2K box.
They must be on the same IP network to communicate. Also I suspect your
are running ISP vs SPF for a protocl stack on OS9. Is this correct ? AS
long as the Hawk IDE / and the daemons (ndpd & nppd) match this should
not be a problem.

Ping is a utility that let you test for a network connection between 2
machines. the comand looks like "ping othermachinename" or "ping
***.***.***.***" If you get a response other than an error the machines
can communicate.
If you are runnning ISP there is a utility named ??stat. For example
the Intel 82596 utility is iestat. This utility will give you
information on how the network chip is really setup. Sometimes how the
connection is really setup is different that we might believe because of
typeo's or otehr errors. If you are running SPF try "netstat -i" to see
if your network is running like you believe.

The error you are getting means the machines are not communicating.
The network may have not been started on the OS9 machine or not setup the
way you believe it is.

There is a good description on IP addresses and address classes in OS-9 Lan Communications manual.

You can try to ping other machine (some PC in your network) to see how
does it work. If your PCs use dynamic IP addressing you first need to
find out their IP addresses or set static IP addresses.

IP Address on the target: 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
IP Address on win2000: 1.1.1.1
subnet mask: the same

I think I'm running ISP(spfndpd<>>>/nil& spfnppd<>>>/nil&)

$ ping 1.1.1.1
PING 1.1.1.1 (1.1.1.1): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: 007:030

what should I do now?

Jenifer
Your machines are on 2 different TCP/IP networks!!
With a netmask of 255.255.255.0 the first 3 number of the IP address MUST
MATCH. I would use the 192.168.0.X network since this is a private IP
address and will not slip through any routers. Also since you are
starting spf version of the hawk utilities you had better be running SPF
instead of ISP. ISP is no longer supported. SPF replaced ISP several
years ago.
