Is there any newsgroup that still deals with this. Over the years I

Also, I have VisualBasic 5. Can anyone list the differnces with Visual
Basic 6 which still appears to be very popular.

The interface is quite different, 'cause Visual Basic is event driven. Apart
from that, there are no big differences.
My experience is that it takes some time to adopt the "new way of thinking"
that event-driven programming requires, but I find it much more fun to
write Windows programs than DOS programs.

I did som programming in old dos in the 80'. I began learning VB6 two years
ago. I used Sam's teach yourself visual basic 6 in 21 day. It was resonably
easy. A little less than a year ago I changed to VB.Net, which was somewhat
different. It took me some time to get used to it, but it was worth it. So
when you get used to the different style of the interface and give it some
time, its greate.
