Default Slow Network Speed

Hi All,

I have searched the ng's and could not find much on this.
A customer has just installed Win XP Pro as a server with
a win 95 and a couple of win98 machines. Still running my
CPD 2.1 dos app but I do not think that is affecting anything.

Start all computers in the morning and all is ok. As the day
moves along, access is slower and slower. Rebooting solves
this for a while.

I have searched the Microsoft site and come up with a few
things to try, but you guys have usually been there and fixed
that. <bg>

Any ideas what could be causing this or what could be
tweaked?? They are about 3 hours away, so I am trying
to fix this over the phone. At lease they understand that
it is windows and not my app.

What he really needs is a real fileserver... Tell him to get a Novell
server.

Hi Guys,
CPD 2.1 apps take up lots of processor time. Use DPAKBD.Com in a batch file
to start the 2.1 programme. This reduces the keyboard scanning to a more
reasonable time frame. Pick it up on
http://www.millennium3.ws/upgrades/dpakbd.com plus a batch file that shows
to do it. http://www.millennium3.ws/upgrades.milnmram.bat

Hi Ron,

Well, XP Pro is not meant for that but you can play with these settings:

go to "System Properties", then select advance, then performance, then advance.
