Yeah, I get irritated with people slamming ME all the time ... It ran just
fine for me (as good as, or better than '98 ... with wdm driver support)
from when I upgraded from '98 (when ME was still in beta ... actually I
started with RC1) until I moved to XP (as soon as it was released). However,
ME doesn't offer much more than '98 and it brings with it higher system
requirements (though it's more just M$ cow-towing to hardware vendors). I
mean, it explains a lot that the WinMe upgrade was half the price of the 98
upgrade ...
From a stability standpoint Win2000/XP are MUCH more stable ... especially
when it comes to unruly programs. If a program crashes, it rarely takes the
OS with it. Unlike 98/Me which pretty much have to be restarted if a program
stops responding.
