Default Trouble Making BlackBox Terminal Server

In BlackBox 1.4, I have made a program, Alm01Terminals, by pulling
together parts of ObxWrappers, CommObxStreamsServer, and portion of
Telnet.Mod from ETH Oberon (** portable *) (* ip/mg 17.3.94 / 07.04.95
*)

Alm01Terminals supports both Servers and a Clients.

The Server awaits a connection. In one use, it listens on port 143
(IMAP4) and I have Eudora try to pick up mail for a personality using
IMAP4. Alm01Terminals opens a text viewer, and I can manually emulate
an IMAP4 compliant server to Eudora.

I can also open a client to the local machine (Win 2000) and see the
result of qotd, daytime, and POP3 servers.

What I cannot do is talk to any Unix box. In looking at the Terminal
code for ETH Oberon, and the V4 Oberon, it seems that there is an
initial terminal identification handshake.

I began to move code from the ETH Oberon terminal program, and I put
in a small amount of code to display the first character of that
handshake and to verify that it occurs. I do not see evidence that it
is occuring. The client is making a connection, then immediately
closing it whenever I try to reach to a unix box.

I am able to use the Microsoft Telnet window, login to a remote Unix
machine, and to telnet back in to my Server with success.

If anyone understands how to make a terminal program work with remote
unix systems, please have a look at this and see what you think.
