ORACLE DBA ON MVS(MAINFRAME) : This position is for an Oracle DBA on MVS . It would involve managing a multi-terabyte database on MVS-Mainframe. The candidate should have 3+ years of experience managing Oracle databases on MVS and have a sound knowledge of Mainframe technolgy including z/OS. 1. What type experience were you looking for? The job description mentioned ORACLE DBA on UNIX and ORACLE DBA on MVS. Are they both required?

The core requirement is for Oracle DBA on MVS . Oracle on Unix is a plus . The candidate needs to be very strong in MVS/OS-390 .

2. Is this going to be a productions environment or a maintenance environment?

This is to manage 2 production Oracle databases on mainframe and about 6-7 test/QA databases.

3. Is it possible to determine which skills are required and which are preferred?
