Default Windows has detected a registry/configuration error - Windows 95 - please help

Greetings everybody - ny name is Jeff and my mom is running Windows 95
on an old Packard Bell.

I just tried to log on and the following messages came up -

Warning - Windows has detected a registry/config error. Choose
Safe/mode, to start Windows with a minimal...

She is not a sophisticated user and cannot find her original Windows
95 disk and of course never made a startup diskette.

I am visiting her from Aspen, Colorado, and I brought my Apple I Book
(my first Apple - I am a long time PC user).

My question is this - can I download the files she needs, HIMEM.SYS,
WIN.COM, etc to my I Book, burn them onto a CD and copy them to her
PC?

We would appreciate any help and this could get me back into her will!

Warmest regards,

Jeff

Ron Badour's site...
he's got instructions
as to how to restore the registry on a win95 machine...

http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/registry.html

however that problem could also be caused by bad RAM
and you may need to do a memory test
