Difficult to describe exactly, but it seems that, at least some of the
time, a character keyed is not received by the program until another
character is keyed, the second character being lost.

It's a pity, because otherwise it's a very useful program, providing
interactive/non-interactive viewing, searching, and altering and the
ability to report all sorts of things to standard output. For example,
it can list the names of any of the indicated files that do not contain
a string matched by a RegExp.

I find MiniTrue useful for viewing/searching/altering files, at a DOS prompt;
free, DOS/Win/UNIX, <URL:http://www.idiotsdelight.net/minitrue/> unsupported.

In all dos-under-XP programs, or just the one you were referring to?

I cannot answer for all dos-under-XP, since I've not tried them all <g>.

16-bit MiniTrue is fine, many 16-bit programs of mine (in Borland
Pascal) are fine, BP itself is fine.

My CHEKLINX, 32-bit Delphi, is fine, but it rarely uses the keyboard and
that only slightly.
